What does healthy really mean?

My opinion on what being healthy truly means has changed a huge amount in the past year.. I was so lost as too what it really meant and how I could achieve it.. was it a goal weight or body shape? Was it living off of green smoothies or going fully raw vegan? There is so much information out there telling you what to do and how to do it.. but how do you know which source is true? I cant say that I am an expert but I think I’ve pretty much worked out what being healthy means to me.
So many people have different ideas on what it means to be healthy….
In my opinion.. it is different for each and every person… your body is unique and can work differently to others..
I’m not claiming that I know exactly how to be at your own optimum health or that I’m at it either, but through my life I’m finding out what works for my body and what doesn’t.. and I’m still learning now, its all just trail and error…
It took me a very long time to realise this and actually truly understand that Being healthy isn’t what you look like on the outside… its how you feel on the inside.
I always thought that being healthy was just eating salads and being striving to be thin... but its very far from it.
Being healthy Is feeling your absolute best, having an abundance of energy and glowing from the inside out.
Weight is just a number on the scales and it does NOT define the way you feel, this is one of the massive mistakes everyone makes, creating unrealistic goal weights, and comparing yourself to other people… You may look at some other girl on instagram and think, omg I wish I had her body, but the reality is… we all have different bodies, different bone structures and different souls, we are different people! And we will never be the same, don’t waste your time comparing yourself too others.. Embrace the body YOU were given and be the best that YOU can possibly be!
In my eyes being healthy is waking up everyday and giving my body what it craves and deserves. If I want to go on a run, ill go. If I’m not feeling too great and my body is telling me to slow down, ill relax and make myself a cup of tea and maybe have a bit of vegan chocolate (soul food is the best) .. YOU create your own healthy… you know what feels good for your body.
Being vegan is just another thing I’ve picked up along to way that works for me.. it has been the best decision I have ever made .. it’s opened my eyes to what I’m putting into my body and making sure I give it everything it wants and needs. It suits the person I am and it is MY version of healthy…
I guess what I’m trying to say is listen to your body, treat it with respect and care, and realise that you create your own definition of health.

Thank you for reading
